Without Further Delay, Here's how the Contest Worked...

Contestants Entered

Wannabe racers got their creative juices flowing and thought about their best, worst, favourite, craziest, scariest, funniest, most memorable rides that they’ve experienced with a riding buddy. They thought about how amazing it is to share a passion for the trails with that equally passionate rider. Great riding buddies come from all walks of life – friends, spouses, teammates, fathers, daughters, mothers, sons, brothers, sisters…like we said, all walks of life – and their riding buddies reflected that!

Contestants then told us why they and their buddy deserve to win this incredible prize package. We were looking for a minimum of 500 words of insight that would convince our judges that those two riders are, without a doubt, the right team to win.

Simply put, in order to enter, contestants had to give some serious thought about what they wanted to say and then actually document it (at least 500 WORDS and in English) and submit it to us along with a picture with THEM AND their RIDING BUDDY TOGETHER.

Submissions were accepted on our website from February 19th to May 18th, 2008. Entries that did not meet requirements stated above were not accepted.

And yes, racers who are already signed up for BCBR 2008, are eligible to win as well. All the same contest rules apply.

We Drew

Every few weeks during the open submission time, we randomly drew one winner from all of the entries we’d received. The random winners received some sweet swag from our fantastic sponsors and had their stories and pictures published in the What's New section on our website for all to see.

The Judges Picked

After May 18th, we stopped accepting submissions and turned over the mass of entries (including all the bi-weekly random draw winners) to our panel of "celebrity" judges for evaluation. The judges scrutinized every entry and determined the top three of the lot.

The Masses Voted

On May 21st, we posted the chosen three on the website and opened voting to the free world. That’s right, we turned the power over to the masses to cast their votes and determine the ultimate winner!

And that brings us to the final announcement. On June 12th we announced the the grand-poobah winner - Fernanda Mejia & Alonso Sanchez - on the website and the celebrations, planning and maybe even a little panic will certainly begin for that very lucky team.
