  • SEVEN is Gaining Momentum...

Well, SEVEN registration keeps on climbing and we couldn’t be more excited! With new teams signing up daily, don’t miss your opportunity to be part of this destined-to-be-classic race! A big shout out to all the teams who’ve signed up for the challenge. With teams coming from England, Mexico, Arizona, Montana, Minnesota, Washington, New Jersey, California, Virginia, Idaho, Oregon, Michigan, Connecticut, Colorado, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario...the diversity of competitors keeps growing!

    Get to Know Us...

If you caught the last Blog, you’ll know that the SEVEN Management Team had our first working retreat in Victoria, BC – the picturesque starting point for Stage 1 on July 1st. Thanks to the hospitality and generosity of Harbour Air, our founding sponsor, we had an amazing time! We realized very quickly that our Team is “toit like a toiger” and we’ve posted each Management Team member’s bio and picture in the About Us section for you to get to know us.

Welcome to our New GM of Operations... Kevin Thomson!

SEVEN and President Dean Payne is thrilled to announce that he has appointed Kevin Thomson as the new GM of Operations. Many of you may know of Kevin, or his work, if you’ve participated in any of the Carpe Diem Adventures activities, run in the New Balance Fall Classic Run, or drove/chipped/putted your way through the Canadian Speed Golf Championships.

Kevin is a sporting and adventure events visionary whose years of experience as a competitor and producer are a huge asset to SEVEN. Dean has dubbed Kevin “the Scotty Bowman of all-star players” and we are delighted to have his vast knowledge and expertise on-board.

    Exciting and New for You...

We are proud to have BC Ferries’ support and are keen to share their Endorsement Letter for SEVEN! In addition, we are delighted to welcome Vancouver Coast & Mountains and Vancouver Island tourism groups show their support and enthusiasm for the SEVEN race as Silver Sponsors.

Here at SEVEN, we know how important it is to see value for your money in a large event like this and our sponsors keep contributing excellent schwag for competitors. Now every registered racer will receive a free pair of Ryders performance sport sunglasses and a free one-year subscription to Pedal magazine in addition to a hand-made finisher trophy, official cotton t-shirt and official race program. And, don’t forget that the first 100 teams registered will receive a SEVEN technical race jersey!

Be sure to check out the change to Stage 7 – it’s now a time trial stage in which riders will start at 30 second intervals. Run exclusively on some of Whistler’s best single track, like Thrill Me Kill Me, the time trial format promises for an exciting finish to this epic adventure!

Looking for a little inspiration? We’ve posted the first installment of Andreas’ training program... kick start your training today!
