Teams of Two

categories-medals

You will each be issued a bike plate displaying your team number. For each of the seven days, you and your teammate will start the race together and must cross the finish line together. You'll share the guts and the glory as a partnership. This is our most popular category, with roughly 60% of riders participating as a team.

Race categories for Epic Teams of Two are Open Men, Open Women, Open Mixed, Veterans 80+, and Veterans 100+.

*please note that all categories require a minimum of five teams registered overall for recognition.

Teams of More than Two (But Less than Six)

This is a Non-Competitive Recreational category with no prizing.

The Teams of More than Two option is ideal for you if:

  • You are two active couples that want to race but have kids and want to spell each other off every other day
  • You have a corporate team where a bunch of you want to get in on the action
  • You want a more relaxed approach to riding from North Vancouver to Whistler and want to ride every other day with three or four of your best riding buddies
  • You are a personal trainer with a number of clients that you want to lead through the seven days

categories-3plusYou'll each be issued a bike plate and it's up to you to decide which riders on your team start each day. Whoever on your team starts the day must finish the day. Your daily Team Time will be determined when your final rider crosses the finish line. Times will be posted but there are no daily awards for Teams of More than Two.

All members of your team will receive participants' medals at the end of the race on Day Seven. Members who ride every day - from One through Seven - making all cutoff times, will receive finishers' medals.

Example for a Team of Five:
Day One - Riders A, B & D start the day and all of them finish the race and make each cutoff.
Day Two - Riders B & E start the day and both of them finish the race and make each cutoff.
Day Three - Riders B, C & E begin the day, and Rider E drops out but Riders B & C finish the race and make each cutoff.

If this continues where Rider B finishes each stage for the remaining days, then Rider B will receive a finishers' medal while the other team members will receive participants' medals.
