Founded in 1998, lululemon’s first real store opened in the beach area of Vancouver BC called Kitsilano, in November of 2000. The idea was to have the store be a community hub where people could learn and discuss the physical aspects of healthy living from yoga and diet to running and cycling as well as the mental aspects of living a powerful life of possibilities. Another BC born and bread business that joined forces with BC Bike Race in 2013.
In keeping with our goal to be the best mountain bike stage race in the world, Lululemon sees our vision to provide an excellent off course experience for every racer from around the world. In 2013 Lululemon brought ambassador Ryan Leech on board to deliver a post race yoga/stretch to our racers. On day one 250 racers took to the mats in hopes of a more relaxed and able body for the next 6 days to come. This year we have sunset yoga on the beach planned for Powell River on Day 2, it can’t get any better than that!
Lululemon not only provides the racers and staff with this relaxing session of yoga mid- day for everyone to enjoy they also outfit the crew and racers in gear for the week. We are extremely grateful to have them on board as a sponsor that shares a passion for healthy lifestyle, the outdoors, sport and throwing one heck of an event that knocks your socks off.
